A new game can be entered just making legal moves on the board. The new move is entered as main line or variant, depending on the current position. Comments can be added by right clicking on the game text (a pop-up menu appears; select a comment type or “text after move”). If “text after move” is selected, a window opens, allowing the text comment to be entered.
By right clicking in the comment text window a second window appears:

where the Informant symbols are shown, and can be selected. This feature can also be activated by “C” key (Add comment, ASCII 67).
Variants can be deleted or promoted by the same menu. The function Delete remaining moves will delete the current move and the remaining moves in the same variant (or the current move and the remaining game moves, if the current line is the main line).
Current game can be refreshed by the Menu (View: Refresh game text window) (current game is kept in a temporary file).
If you want to save the game to the current data base, just command Save game. If you want to save the game to a different data base, you have to command File: New data base (the List View is emptied, you are prompted to open or create a data base) and then Save game. If there is not a current data base open, you are prompted to open or create it. In any case, the data base you open or create becomes the current data base.
After you have saved the game, you don’t need to save the current data base (it is automatically saved). You may want to save the current data base as a different name (command File: Save data base; a copy is created in the disk, and the current data base name changes to the new name).
Open db, New db, Save db, New game, Save game functions are also available on the toolbar.
